The OffHook application was designed to allow work groups on the same local network to monitor the phone status of other OffHook users on the same local network.

With the click of a mouse, a user can communicate to other users that they are beginning a phone call. When the call is over, they can easily switch their status back to available.

Although designed for telephony, you could use OffHook to track any kind of on/off state. (Lunch, meetings, out-of-the-office, etc.)

OffHook uses UDP protocols for communication, and should work fine on most networks. If you are unsure about compatibility with your network, we recommend downloading the application and experimenting in demo mode before purchasing a license. The demo is fully featured, but it only runs for ten minutes.

OffHook users must be on the same subnet (obviously) --- otherwise the network messages that OffHook sends to other users will likely be dropped.

If users are all sharing the same router, then they are probably on the same subnet.

By default, OffHook sends and receives on Port 62007, but this can be changed in settings.

Users will need to make sure that their firewalls permit UDP traffic through the desired port.
